Kolob Canyon has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Behavioral Healthcare  Accreditation by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care.  Joint Commission standards focus on state-of-art performance improvement strategies that help behavioral health and health care organizations improve the safety and quality of care. Not all residential programs are Joint Commission accredited or meet this highest standard of care. 

Our Joint Commission accreditation means that we are committed to student safety, ehnancing our overall performance through continuous staff training, ensuring best clinical practices and improving risk management. Because Joint Commission accreditation is recognized by insurers, It also means that is can increase the chances for our families to receive reimbursement from their insurace for their child's treatment at Kolob Canyon.    

The academic program at Kolob Canyon is accredited through Cognia.  Cognia Accreditation is a launchpad for school improvement. Based on rigorous research-based standards and evidence-based criteria, the process probes the whole institution—from policies to learning conditions and cultural context—to determine how well the parts work together to meet the needs of every learner. Accreditation isn’t about passing a one-time inspection—it helps education providers meet improvement goals and sustain commitments to better learner outcomes. Kolob Canyon recognizes the need and responsibility to conduct appropriate research to ensure that our students are receivng the best possible treatment.   Kolob Canyon is proud to be a designated research based program through NATSAP (National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs). Currently, we are actively participating in the NATSAP Outcome Research Project.   

Kolob Canyon is a proud member of the CERTS Group of Programs.  Certified Educational, Recreational, Therapeutic Schools and Programs (CERTS) have been widely recognized as a leading provider of specialized residential treatment centers for adolescents in the United States.

The CERTS mission is to create leading adolescent treatment programs through relentlessly asking the right questions, where a climate of growth and personal development inspires positive change and the desire to live true principles in our students, their families and our staff.

Kolob Canyon is proud to be a member of NATSAP. The National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs serves as an advocate and resource for innovative organizations which devote themselves to society’s need for the effective care and education of struggling young people and their families. We feel that it is important to maintain our membership and association with NATSAP to ensure that Kolob Canyon is meeting their standards and guidelines in treatment for teens. 

Kolob Canyon is a member of The Southern Utah Program Alliance. SUPA for short, is a group of therapeutic programs that have teamed up to make Southern Utah a premiere location for treatment. Over 23 programs have come together to collaborate on projects and share best practices. SUPA's mission is to better each of our organizations so that we may better serve the populations we work with and society at large.
