Big Tuna is a gentle giant.  He is very social with people and especially loves meeting new humans.  Big Tuna is a horse that students on blue level of horsemanship love to ride. He follows their lead and can be intune with his rider.

Blaze

Blaze is a fireball just like his name.  Students riding Blaze need to communicate effectively with him.  When he knows that the rider is in charge, he follows instructions well.  Students on blue level enjoy riding Blaze.

Belle

Belle is a 5 year old appendix mare. Belle came to Kolob in May of 2022. Belle has her own trauma from losing her first foal at only a few months old. Belle really seems to enjoy the students and loves her other horse friends. Belle is a blue level horse.

Gatsby

Gatsby is a horse who needs a lot of love.  She can be nervous, but responds well to students once she trusts them.  Gatsby enjoys being ridden by students who are on red level.

Phantom

Phantom is very laid back--at times almost too laid back.  He is gentle, but needs firm direction and effective communication from his rider. Once he knows you are in charge, he is great to ride. Students on red level are able to ride Phantom.

Rain

Rain is gentle to ride and is a favorite of students on green level.  Students often win ribbons at horse competitions when they ride Rain.  Rain wears a different kind of ribbon--a red ribbon in her tail.  This shows that she kicks other horses. While she loves people, she doesn't like other horses as much.

Sequoia

Sequoia is a beautiful hores.  She is a kind horse, but knows what she wants and doesn't want.  Students need to provide her with give and take while riding.  Green level students enjoy riding Sequoia.

Foxtrot is a gorgeous girl.  She is Meridian's sister.  Foxtrot has a lot much energy, but is very polite with the students and other horses.  She is being trained for riding by our Equine Director.

Meridian

Meridian is one of our younger horses.  She is the sister of Foxtrot.  They look almost identical and we often call them the twins.  Meridian is very mellow, but not as polite as her sister.  She is working on gaining good trail manners.

Princess is a very sweet horse and is well-liked by our students.  She is a wonderful mother to Cove.  She is not currently being ridden as she is our Brood Mare.

Cove

Cove is one our newest horses.  She is such a pretty horse.  Although Cove loves being with her friend Moxie, she can still be a bit skittish with the students.  The students are working with Cove to accept them and learn good skills.

Moxie

Moxie is a calm young horse. Along with Cove, she is one of our youngest horses.  Moxie is accepting of the students who are working to teach her skills such as wearing a bridle and good trail skills.  You can often find Moxie with Cove.

Lyric

Lyric is a golden doodle.  She is full of energy.  She loves to be with our students and you can usually find her where the students are.  Lyric loves the cats, although they don't always love her.  Lyric can often be found chasing a cat up a tree.  Lyric enjoys spending time with the other dogs on campus.

Bronte

Bronte is a Belgian Malinois and a certified therapy dog. She started off volunteering in hospitals to bring smiles to patients until Covid hit. Bronte has been going to work with our therapist, Megan for the past two years. She has a strong motherly instinct from having puppies accidentally at a very young age, and knows when to bring comfort to kiddos in need.

Ruger

Ruger is a German Shorthair Pointer. While he is not a therapy dog, he has the kindest heart and knows when to give all the love. He believes he is a lap dog and will force his way into your lap for lots of cuddles and kisses. Ruger has his own trauma from being attacked by another dog as a puppy and has scars on his back. Besides cuddling, Ruger loves bird watching and can disappear for hours at a time lost in his own little world.
